The German association for Deaf Jews in Berlin, IGJAD, is presenting a signed film about the Deaf-Jewish experience around the Nazi Era by the example of the large, all-deaf family of Markus Milet who had a flourishing carpenter’s shop in Berlin. It is wonderful to see this double minority represented among all the different cultures threatened during the NS-Era. It implies that, today, Deaf Jews do contribute to Berlin’s cultural diversity. Please see the IGJAD web page for further information and a look at the film on their website.
